Color

I love photography and one of the things about photography that I love the most is the amount of color that you can capture in one place, at one time, in one moment in your life.  Color is everywhere in our lives and we rarely even pay attention to it because we’re so busy and we’re so wrapped up in everything that is happening around us, but sometimes it can really move you.

I loved these flamingos at the Tulsa Zoo this day that John and I went to walk around for awhile.  They were wild with excitement because it was one of the first cool days that we had during our extremely hot summers.  Every time the wind would blow they would open their wings like this and start quacking… or hollering… or squawking… or whatever it is a flamingo noise is called!  I love the amazing hot pink tone in their feathers (because of the shrimp they eat, which I learned over the past few years, and I was amazed!) and then I was almost shocked to see that they had black feathers underneath their wings.  How neat is that look?!

Awhile ago I had a woman come into the store I work at and ask if I able to custom match a paint color that was almost identical to this blue color in this peacock.  I never thought I’d ever be able to see this color face to face on an animal, but when I did, I didn’t hesitate to take a snap shot.  This is one of the coolest blues I have ever seen and no matter how hard I’ve tried, I cannot duplicate or find a blue paint that matches it!

I have this photo printed out and sitting on the table at my store to hopefully give people color inspiration as they’re looking at paint choices for their houses.  The penguins at the Tulsa Zoo are sooooo cute!  I just felt like sharing with you all!  I hope you all can find time to enjoy some color in your daily lives!
